Jamestown Cottage

Overview

Situated in the heart of the Eskdale Hills, just 10 miles from historic Langholm, Jamestown Cottage sleeps five guests in beautiful surroundings with elegant furnishings, spacious rooms and total tranquillity. Double glazed with electric heating throughout, the cottage boasts a stylish lounge with open log fire, attractive and fully equipped country kitchen and dining room, two large bedrooms and a luxurious shower room with power shower. An enclosed garden and paved sitting area is ideal for a spot of al fresco dining and is a wonderful space for children to play. The farm itself boasts an abundance of purebred and pedigree ewes and is reputed to be the birthplace of one of Scotland's most famous engineers, Thomas Telford.

Ideally located for walking, cycling, wildlife spotting and exploring the region's history and archaeological features, Jamestown offers a wealth of activities and attractions within a short distance. There are a number of major salmon and trout rivers in the area which are popular with anglers, while golfers will be spoiled for choice with over 30 golf courses to choose from including a challenging 9-hole course in nearby Langholm. Gretna Green is within easy driving distance if you want to browse its designer outlet and of course explore the town's romantic history.
