    Gardenstown is a picturesque village situated on the Moray Firth with stunning views across to Caithness. Here you can take things easy and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of village life. You can while the hours away at the harbour or explore the small sandy beach with its red sandstone cliffs and numerous rock pools.

    For nature lovers it is a paradise being close to the RSPB reserve at Troup Head which boasts the largest mainland colony of nesting gannets in Scotland amongst many other seabirds including the puffin.
    Dolphins can be seen regularly swimming in the bay; a truly amazing sight.
    In spring the hillsides are covered with primroses and in early summer wild orchids grow on the grassy slopes amongst a myriad of other wild flowers.

    For film enthusiasts the village of Pennan is a mere ten minutes drive away. Here Burt Lancaster starred in the film Local Hero. Visit Pennan and photograph the famous red phone box which was an integral part of the film.

    From Banff; drive through Macduff then turn left to take the coastal route; B9031 to Gardenstown. From Fraserburgh drive along the A98 towards Banff then turn off for New Aberdour on to the B9031 then follow this road for about ten miles until you see a signpost for Gardenstown.

    From the nearest information centre:- From the Banff office; drive through Macduff then turn left to take the coastal route; B9031 to Gardenstown.     Getting there by railway:- The main railway station is at Aberdeen just beside the bus station where you can catch a bus to Banff and then another to Gardenstown.

    Getting there by aeroplane:- The nearest airport is at Aberdeen and is about one hours drive from Gardenstown. Inverness airport is an hour and a half drive away.
