Killean Estate offers the very best of luxury Scottish accommodation on the west coast of the Kintyre peninsula. The estate, spanning nearly five thousand acres of sprawling hills, lochs, woodland and farmland offers many opportunities for shooting, fishing, golf and hiking.

We have over a mile of sandy beaches (complete with resident seals), a working farm and tropical gardens, but the best feature of all is sure to be the most amazing views of the coastline towards the islands of Gigha, Islay and Jura. Indeed on a clear day, you can actually see the coast of Ireland! The estate also benefits from the Gulf Stream which offers a warmer climate than the Scottish average and the coastal breeze keeps the midges at bay!

Killean offers many properties of different sizes to suit every need, all with the same high specification. Eight of the properties are listed buildings and enjoy period features throughout including real fires, yet have been recently refurbished including new bathrooms and kitchens. We stayed at the doll's house, which was great. Plenty of room and very cosy. It was actually better than we expected. We only really appreciated the Killean estate a couple of days before we left. We did a bit of driving about. So, the four days we stayed was really not enough. We wish we had stayed longer!! The staff were amazing and it's lovely when they are able to have a chat. They made our stay even more enjoyable. Our dog had the most amazing time. This time last year he was really really ill. So, to see him so full of life around Killean was a good tonic for us. I cannot praise the estate or the our apartment highly enough. The setting is idilic and a great place to just sit back, relax and enjoy the outdoors (or get involved if that's your thing). The house was gorgeous and so many added benefits which made it feel like something really special just for us. We were really pleased when the temperature dropped a bit on Sunday and we could light the fire! I have been waxing lyrical about everything since I came back to work and I know that a few people have taken the website details/estate name so I hope they seriously consider coming along and having a great time as we did. I think I can safely say that we will be back and I know that my in-laws are already regulars who I am sure will also make a return visit as soon as they can.

I've been meaning to email you since we returned from our marvellous holiday in Scotland. We were most impressed with the wonderful accommodation on the Killean Estate..it was such a relief to find that we had chosen well, having has a couple of mishaps in teh past with booking from websites! The apartment was beautifully furnished, clean and well stocked in terms of kitchen equipment. We loved exploring the coast line and the hills and then sitting quietly in the evenings watching teh pheasants and the rabbits wilst drinking a glass or two of wine...delightful. We would very much like to return, possibly as early as September if our schedule allows. Thank you very much for all the attention to detail...it was much appreciated.
