Road Directions

Take the (A9 North) Wick/Thurso road until you see the turn off for Evanton approximately half a mile past the Storehouse of Foulis (+/- 15 miles from Inverness and not far after crossing Cromarty Firth on the low level bridge). Turn off left here and go under a Railway Bridge, continue up this road until you see a sign for Kiltearn Burial Ground, turn right here and continue down this single track road. Kiltearn House is the first house on the left.

Public Transport Directions

From the nearest information centre:- Kiltearn House is a 20 minutes' drive from the Strathpeffer VIC. From there, head north toward the A834, turn left at A834, then turn left at A862. At the roundabout take the first exit onto the A9 heading to A99/Wick/Thurso. Turn left at signs for Evanton/B817. Before entering Evanton take a right towards the Kiltearn Burial Ground, down the single track country road. We are the first house on the left.

Getting there by railway:- Numerous trains run to Inverness from all over the UK, most changing at Glasgow or Edinburgh. Trains run regularly from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen along a very picturesque route to Inverness.

Getting there by ferry:- Cairnryan links Scotland with Larne and Belfast, Northern Ireland. Cairnryan is not directly accessible by train; nearest station is a few miles down Loch Ryan at Stranraer.

Troon also links Scotland to Larne. Connections from Troon to Glasgow, Paisley, Ayr and Kilmarnock. Train Station is a 25-minute walk from ferry terminal. Long term pay and display car parking.
