Kirroughtree House

For a luxury stay at a beautiful Georgian mansion, head to Kirroughtree Country House Hotel, where you can relax and enjoy 8 acres of landscaped gardens on the outskirts of Newton Stewart.

Set within the Galloway Forest Park, the hotel is a great place to stay while you explore Wigtownshire. With chic public rooms, elegant and spacious bedrooms and an award-winning restaurant, you can sit back and allow your cares to fade away as you indulge in great food, fresh air and relaxation.

The 17 bedrooms and suites range from generous standard and larger deluxe rooms to the remarkable Regal Suite, originally built in 1890 as the library wing. Unwind in your own personal sitting area and enjoy the fresh fruit, sherry, tea and coffee that await your arrival or make your way to the hotel's opulent lounges where you can admire the beautiful period oil paintings as you sip afternoon tea. Many of the bedrooms enjoy views over the impressive grounds where you can try your hand at a game of croquet or putting and then relax on the terrace with a glass of chilled wine.

Kirroughtree Country House Hotel offers the perfect place to relax after an active day spent in the Galloway Forest Park, on a long walk along the Southern Upland Way or exploring the nearby historic attractions such as the ruins of medieval Caerlaverock Castle and the stately Drumlanrig Castle.
