There is a testing nine hole golf course and tennis court and a wide range of fishing is available in the immediate area. Loch Whinyeon can be reached by a hill path from the cottage itself.
Within a short drive are the wonderful sandy beaches at Sandgreen and Mossyard, perfect for bathing, windsurfing and sailing and the whole area is ideal for walking and cycling. Forest tracks near the cottage are ideal for mountain biking and the Kirroughtree Stage of the 7Stanes Mountain Bike Network is within a half hour drive.

Laghead Steading Cottage is let weekly Saturday to Saturday with short breaks welcome throughout the year, however in High & Peak periods are only bookable if within 28 days of arrival.
