    Large rooms and high ceilings are a feature of this attractive wing of this large country house situated in the picturesque hamlet of Shielfoot on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula.

    The property forms part of an old servants block and has been tastefully renovated, retaining many original features. It is set on a quiet single track road a short drive from Castle Tioram.

    The area is renowned for its stunning coastline, superb scenery and its wealth of wildlife. Take a trip to the lovely towns of Fort William and Mallaig, as well as exploring the many islands in the region. Loch Cruises, fishing, golf, hill walking and cycling are all enjoyed in the area.

    £100 refundable security deposit required at time of booking. Please note, prices on the website are for the WHOLE COTTAGE PER NIGHT, NOT PER ROOM.

    Road Directions

    From Glasgow, travel north on the A82 past Loch Lomond. Keep following the A82 until you reach Loch Linnhe. Look out for signs for the Corran Ferry, and cross Loch Linnhe via the ferry. On the other side of the ferry turn left and follow the A861, passing through Strontian and Salen, without turning off until you reach the village of Acharacle. Travel through the village until you reach a Y junction. Bear right towards the river Shiel, staying on the A861, for about 1/4 of a mile. Just before the bridge over the Shiel take the left turn on to a tree lined road signposted Shielfoot. Laundry Cottage can be found within the first square of houses that you come to, on the left.

    Public Transport Directions

    From the nearest information centre:- 12 miles from Strontian Tourist Information Centre. Leave Strontian village travelling West on the A861. At the Salen junction carry on the A861, signposted Acharacle 3 miles. Travel through the village of Acharacle. At the Y junction bear right towards the river Shiel, staying on the A861. Just before the bridge over the Shiel take the left turn on to a tree lined road signposted Shielfoot. Laundry Cottage can be found within the first square of houses that you come to, on the left.

    Getting there by railway:- Travel to Fort William station. From here it is possible to catch the local bus service Shiel buses to the village.

    Getting there by aeroplane:- The nearest airport is Inverness.

    Getting there by ferry:- Local ferries (Calmac) operate around the area.
