Uig, the ferry terminal for the Hebrides is within a short drive where you can find the local shop, pub and restaurants. Portree is only 18 miles away.
Flora MacDonald's grave and the Museum of Island Life are close by and well worth a visit. Dunvegan Castle & Clan Donald Skye are ancestral seats to the MacLeods & MacDonalds, both on the island and very enjoyable.
