LENY ESTATE, THE HOME OF THE BUCHANEN FAMILY FOR OVER 1,000 YEARS IS SET IN LENY PARK SURROUNDED BY ACRES OF FARMLAND IN THE LENY HILLS, KILMAHOG, JUST TO THE WEST OF CALLANDER.

The present house dates from 1513 and is listed as of special architectural and historic interest. It featured in much of the history of Callander, particularly during the Jacobite rebellion when it was used for arms storage and clandestine meetings: this highland estate contains a unique mixture of spacious elegant and tranquil accommodation in historic Leny House (the north wing), a family run baronial country mansion in its own parkland; award winning luxury self-catering lodges and cottages amongst the garden grounds. Within Leny House is the recently restored medieval north wing to provide a sumptuous self-catering apartment with arched open fireplace, oak galleries and panelling. Also available are our award winning lodges and cottages. The 5 solid spruce lodges have been designed and situated on a small peaceful site to take advantage of the stunning views towards the Trossachs and Ben Ledi, long considered to be a particularly beautiful part of Scotland. The private, wild leny glen in which intrepid visitors may walk, and where deer safely graze contains much wildlife including fox, pheasant, grouse, badger, hawk red deer and roe deer this highland estate contains a unique mixture of spacious elegant and tranquil accommodation in historic Leny House (the north wing), a family run baronial country mansion in its own parkland; award winning luxury self-catering lodges and cottages amongst the garden grounds. Within Leny House is the recently restored medieval north wing to provide a sumptuous self-catering apartment with arched open fireplace, oak galleries and panelling. It benefits from the comfort of modern under floor heating and plumbing but the atmosphere and ambience of the Elizabethan age. The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped with modern appliances installed in oak cabinets to preserve the character. The dining room sits on a mezzanine floor over-looking the lounge and open arched fireplace. Two luxurious bedrooms are furnished with Victorian antiques and have 4 poster beds (5ft) with heraldic drapes on the beds and at the windows.
