The Nicolson family would like to welcome you to our charming country cottages, in the heart of Scotland, for a relaxing break away from it all.
Situated on the edge of Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, in an area of outstanding beauty. Our properties are on a working farm where we keep some of our sheep and our suckler herd.
We are delighted to offer you a tour of our other farm, a dairy farm where you can see 450 cows being milked in a new dairy system as well as all the youngstock - get to meet our young calves!
The courtyard steading next to the farmhouse has been thoughtfully converted into 2 spacious, bright and comfortable cottages. We have retained the charm of the old stone buildings but introduced luxury to allow you to relax and enjoy your holiday. The houses have been tastefully furnished with a mix of classic and modern.
The Stables has 3 bedrooms (2 ensuite) and comfortably sleeps 6. It is suitable for 2 guests with mobility difficulties. Ploughmans Cottage has 2 bedrooms & can happily accommodate 4 guests.
Both cottages have a private garden with furnished patio area (BBQ available on request). All linen and towels included. Cots and highchairs are available free on request. Sorry no pets and no smoking
Ideal central location for touring Central Scotland, only a few miles from the banks of Loch Lomond. Stirling & Glasgow are 30 mins drive, Edinburgh & Perth an hour.
Locally there are excellent opportunities for a wide range of outdoor activities. We are within 5 miles of 2 villages offering a wide range of amenities. Our cottages have been tastefully furnished with everything to make your stay relaxing. The private gardens mean that you can enjoy the beautiful countryside without having to move.
The local villages of Buchlyvie & Balfron are around 3 miles away. Most needs can be met here; pubs, restaurants, take-away food, groceries, papers, deli, bakery etc etc.
The cottages are only a few miles from the banks of Loch Lomond and are ideally suited to exploring Central Scotland. There are some stunning drives in the Trossachs and up towards the forests of Argyll.
Locally there are excellent opportunities for walking, sight seeing, cycling & mountain biking, pony trekking, fishing, golf and lots more. Please see our Information page for more. The immediate area also offers a wide range of amenities.

The Stables
This was originally the farm stables, where work horses would have been kept. It has now been converted into a bright and spacious 3 bedroom cottage.

Ploughmans Cottage
Originally quarters for the ploughman, this space has been beautifully converted into a bright 2 bedroom cottage. Downstairs is a bright dining kitchen and spacious lounge (both with patio doors which access the private garden) and a WC. Upstairs is a double and a twin bedroom, tastefully decorated. A master bathroom with shower is also upstairs.
