    The Main House is principally Victorian, built by J. Arthur Campbell in 1896 – and some of the beautiful original features remain, including oak panelling and 19th century family portraits.     Road Directions

    The hotel is just over 2 1/2 hours from Glasgow. For a direct route, follow the M8 West to junction 30, then north on the A82 towards Tarbet. At Tarbet take the A83 and follow the signs for Inveraray and Lochgilphead. At Lochgilphead, take the Oban road (A816). The hotel is at Arduaine, 18 miles to the North and is clearly signposted. From Edinburgh, head North-West to Stirling on the M9 to junction 10. Continue on the A84 to Tyndrum and Oban on the A85. In Oban take the A816. The Loch Melfort Hotel is 19 miles south of Oban on the A816.

    From the nearest information centre:- From Oban follow the A816 south towards Lochgilphead. The hotel is 19 miles south of Oban and is signposted from the road. Aprox 25 minutes by car from Oban or Lochgilphead.

    Getting there by railway:- The nearest station is in Oban approx 25 minutes drive away. There is a direct bus link or arrange pick up in advance with the hotel reception.

    Getting there by aeroplane:- The nearest airport routes are Glasgow or Edinburgh. Glasgow airport is approx 2 hours drive and Edinburgh 3 hours drive away. Car hire is essential as there are limited public transport links.

    Getting there by ferry:- Oban is the hub of ferry service to the islands.
