Tucked away on Loch Màraig, a mile below the main Tarbert to Stornoway road, Lochedge makes an ideal base for exploring Harris and Lewis - and walking in the hills. Purpose built, we provide stylish, relaxing accommodation and dinners too.
There is plenty of space to relax and enjoy the uninterrupted views out over Loch Mharaig to the hills of South Lewis. Who knows, you may even catch sight of an otter out on the shore while you're enjoying breakfast. We're also as 'green' as we can be with lots of eco-sensible initiatives and will give you a free packed lunch if you arrive under your own steam - on foot, by bike, by paddle or under sail.
Each of our three guest rooms looks south across the loch to Tòdun and Sgoath Aird. There is a large twin, a king and a standard double each with an ensuite shower room and lashings of mains pressure hot water. Each room is furnished with contemporary oak furniture and equipped with satellite television, radio alarm with docking station for your iPod, hair dryer, and tea and coffee making facilities. With high quality mattresses, crisp cotton sheets and our own hand-made quilts, you'll be assured of a good night's sleep. If you really need to work or just keep in contact with friends and family in the wider world, there is free wireless internet access.
But we hope you won't spend too much time in your room. Lochedge was purpose built with a separate stairs to the guest bedrooms and a dining room and residents' lounge set apart from our living space. There you'll find luxury leather recliners, large collections of books, music and games, as well as the obligatory satellite television, making the lounge a genial place to relax. There is even a multi-fuel stove to gather around on cooler evenings.
For breakfast choices include full Scottish breakfast and scrambled eggs with local flaked smoked salmon with home-made bread, porridge, cereals and plenty of fresh coffee and tea. We can also fill your flask and provide you with a packed lunch for £5.00.
