    Come and stay in our 18th century warm, comfortable farmhouse and enjoy the stunning scenery, friendly atmosphere and great home cooking. Low Kirkbride Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast is set on an organic working farm amid the beautiful countryside of Dumfries and Galloway, 10 miles north of Dumfries in South West Scotland, 3 miles from Auldgirth and 2 miles from Dunscore. The beautiful farmhouse enjoys a spectacular rural location, surrounded by miles of lush green fields and rolling countryside.

    We have three ensuite rooms; one double, one twin and a family suite. Each room has a digital TV, hairdryer, electric blanket, tea and coffee facilities and an alarm clock/radio, plus local tourist information, so you can get the most out of your stay in this beautiful corner of Scotland. The family suite also has a cosy open plan living and dining room with a gas fire, two modern bathrooms and a fully fitted modern kitchen.

    The homely living room is available for your use with a cosy wood/coal burning stove and a 42 inch flat screen TV and DVD recorder, and there is a games room for all the family with a ping pong and pool table. A secure bike shed, bikes and wash down facilities are also available. On an afternoon, enjoy tea in the bright and airy conservatory or garden. Keep your eyes peeled for the resident chaffinches, sparrows, tits and woodpeckers, who call the garden home.

    Explore the farm on our farm walk and take the opportunity to meet all the farm animals including the Belted Galloways, sheep, chickens, ducks and horses. Low Kirkbride is superb for those seeking a country retreat and is ideally situated within Dumfries and Galloway for easy access to local attractions. There is lots to do in the area including walking, fishing, mountain biking, golfing and horse riding. In addition come and see local castles, art, gardens, wildlife and museums.

    Take the A75 to Dumfries and then the A76 towards Kilmarnock. Approximately six miles from Dumfries turn left off the A76 at the Auldgirth Shop and Post Office. (We are three miles from the A76-follow signs in the shape of a sheep). Take your first right, second left towards Glenmidge, next right, right again and Low Kirkbride is the first farm on your left.     By Car: From the North:
    Take the M74 south. Exit at junction 14 taking the A702 towards Elvanfoot and Thornhill. After approximately 15 miles turn left onto the A76, go through Thornhill. After six miles turn off the A76 at Auldgirth towards Dunscore. (We are three miles from the A76-follow signs in the shape of a sheep). Take your first right, second left towards Glenmidge, next right, right again and Low Kirkbride is the first farm on your left.     By Air:
    From Glasgow Airport take M8 towards Glasgow and then Edinburgh. Take M73/M74 towards Carlisle and at junction 14 take A702 to Thornhill. After approximately 15 miles turn left onto the A76, go through Thornhill. After six miles turn off the A76 at Auldgirth towards Dunscore.     By Ferry:
    From Stranraer take A75 towards Dumfries and Carlisle. On outskirts of Dumfries take A76 towards Kilmarnock.
