Marshvale, Aith

Overview

Bright and welcoming, Marshvale has a beautiful garden with a picnic table and parking for two or more vehicles. It is situated in a peaceful location with striking scenery, which is rich in wildlife and ideal for walking, photography and sea or loch fishing.

The comfortable accommodation is centrally heated through and consists of three bedrooms; one double, one single and one with bunk beds. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you'll need including a dishwasher and washer/dryer; there is also a TV and video in the lounge. All bed linen and towels are supplied and a high chair and cot is available if requested.

There is a large shed in the garden, which can be used for storing bicycles or motorcycles, and adjacent to the house is a greenhouse full of cacti; a nice place to sit in the sun. The local landscape provides plenty of opportunity to go loch fishing, or simply go for walks and enjoy the scenery.

Situated right in the middle of Shetland, Aith is an ideal central base for touring the isles. Marshvale is about 150m from the seashore and ½ mile from the centre of the village, Aith, where there is a shop and post office, a leisure centre with swimming pool, fitness suite squash court and gym hall.
Britain's most northerly lifeboat station is situated at Aith pier and there are salmon, trout and mussel farms near Aith Voe.
There is good opportunity for fishing, bird watching and to see seals, and otters around the shore as well as a variety of sea birds. Sea angling and sightseeing trips can be arranged.
