Melstadr

Overview

A modern, self-contained room looking out onto a secluded garden surrounded by trees. A small burn cascades through the garden, and the trees are a magnet for many varieties of small birds, especially tired migrants! The garden also includes a large private patio area with picnic bench & barbecue (on request), from which there are stunning views to the cliffs and sea. The room is modern and well-equipped, including digital tv/dvd and wi-fi broadband connection, sleeping 3 comfortably (twin beds plus a double sofa bed), with a kitchen area and spacious en-suite shower room. From the garden there is a private, lockable patio-door entrance, giving you the freedom and flexibility to come and go as you please. There is ample parking for several cars. From Melstadr you can undertake spectacular cliff walks or a stroll to the local sandy beach, explore the nearby ruins of an ancient broch or study the local wildlife which includes otters, seabirds and seals. There is a friendly local shop in Levenwick and a regular bus service which runs both south to the Airport and north to Lerwick. There is a bar/restaurant with a fine selection of real ales and locally sourced food, plus many more beaches, beauty spots and sites of archaeological interest available within a 10 minute or so drive. Drop-off and pick-up service is offered subject to availability.
