Mews Cottage overlooks the world famous West Links of North Berwick, one of Scotland's most challenging and picturesque golf courses.
Both the lounge and bedroom enjoy views down the fifth fairway and to the sea beyond. Guests using the cottage can access the golf course and beach by means of a private gate at the foot of the drive, opening onto the sixth tee.
The totally unspoiled Broad Sands - which stretch for nearly a mile towards the island of Fidra - are only a one minute walk across the golf course, where the high dunes and golden sands are ideal for walks and picnics.
Muirfield (venue of the Open Championship) is less than three miles from Mews Cottage, as are the splendid new courses at the Archerfield Estate. There are a further 15 golf courses within a 20 minute drive of the cottage.
For non-golfers, the vibrant High Street of North Berwick - with its abundance of quality shops, art galleries and restaurants - is only a 15 minute walk along the edge of the golf course (or 3 minutes by car). The town centre also boasts the delightful harbour area, overlooked by the world renowned Scottish Seabird Centre. Tantallon and Dirleton Castles are within two miles of the house, whilst Edinburgh is only 30 minutes away by the regular train service from North Berwick Station.
The cottage is ideally arranged to host four adults in comfort, but can accommodate up to five by means of an additional guest bed. The bright sunny lounge (complete with open fire) is tastefully furnished and decorated, and is equipped with flat-screen TV, DVD player and stereo system.
The fully fitted kitchen has a breakfast bar and looks out over the lawns and gardens of the main house, whilst the dining area enjoys access to the decked patio - ideal for al fresco dining. The kitchen is equipped with ceramic hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher.
Upstairs the cottage has two bedrooms, one bathroom and a shower room - the en suite master bedroom serving as a super-king sized double or twin, whilst the second bedroom has twin beds (one of which has a guest bed beneath).
A car parking space is available with the cottage, making loading and unloading simple and straightforward.
