From Stromness Ferry terminal turn right onto A965, continue past Stromness Swimming Pool. Turn left onto A967 after approx 3 miles turn left on to the B9056 and follow the signs for Skaill Bay. Continue on the B9056 past the village of Quoyloo, go past the right turn for the Loons Reserve and the telephone kiosk and turn left at Comlaquoy – Kitcheners Memorial Road follow road for approx 1/2 mile and its on the right before the Car Park for Kitcheners Memorial.
Getting There by Ferry – Gills Bay to St. Margaret’s Hope
From the Ferry go through the village and turn left onto the A961 follow this into Kirkwall followed by the A965 to Finstown Village. Take first road to your right after leaving the village (A986) towards Dounby & Birsay. Continue on and go through the village of Dounby turn left at Twatt Church to RSPB Loons Reserve. Pass reserve and at road end turn right. Follow road past the telephone kiosk and turn left at Comloquoy – Kitchener’s Memorial Road follow road for approx. 1/2 mile and it’s on the right before the Car Park for Kitchener’s Memorial.
British Airways (UK) either from Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Wick or Sumburgh (Shetland) to Kirkwall (Orkney).
