As the family also runs the surrounding farmland, the chef-owner Tom Lewis has plenty of fresh local produce to work with. Don't expect things to be rustic, though; the food and the decor are both rather chic.'
The 18th Century farmhouse has been tastefully decorated to an award winning hotel and restaurant. Open log fires, antiques, sporting prints and original modern art by accomplished artist and sister Melanie Lewis. The restaurant has magnificent views over Loch Voil and Doine. The restaurant won a Thistle Award for Natural cooking of Scotland and also a Taste of Scotland award for Out of Town Restaurant. Winner - CIS awards, winner - Food for the Soul. Also featured in the Which? Good Food Guide. Michelin recommended.
All bedrooms are en-suite and decorated in modern fabrics and fittings with a mixture of antique furniture. Some rooms have views over the lochs, while others, converted from the farm steading are situated in the cobbled courtyard.
Private trout and Salmon fishing, Deer stalking, and acres of hillside to walk over. All around are wonderful walks, from gentle strolls along the lochside to hiking up a Munro. Thoroughly relaxing quiet environment.
