New Lanark Waterhouses

Overview

Eight beautiful self-catering cottages converted from 19th century mill buildings, which accommodate between two and five people. The cottages arch over the trail race of the mill, literally on the River Clyde.

Perfect for families and those who prefer to cater for themselves, each Waterhouse features a living room with dining area, a bathroom with bath and shower, and a fully fitted kitchen. Waterhouses 1,2,3 and 8 each sleep five people and have one room with a double and single bed and a second room with twin beds. Waterhouse 7 also sleeps five but has one double room and one triple room. Waterhouse 6 sleeps four and encompasses two twin rooms, ideal for a group of friends. Waterhouse 5 has a room containing one double and one single bed and so can sleep up to three. Finally, Waterhouse 4 has one twin room and sleeps two. The facilities of the New Lanark Mill Hotel are open to Waterhouse residents and are just yards away.

New Lanark cotton mill village was founded in 1785 and became famous as the site of Robert Owen's radical reforms. Now beautifully restored as both a living community and attraction, the fascinating history of the village is interpreted in an award-winning Visitor Centre, which features a ride called the 'Annie McLeod Experience', a superb rooftop garden, plus a variety of exhibitions. Hotel and Waterhouse guests receive a 25% discount when visiting the attraction.

New Lanark is surrounded by beautiful native woodland, and is close to the spectacular Falls of Clyde. It's a great base for exploring Clydesdale, and Central/Southern Scotland. The city centres of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling are all around an hour away.
