    Nestled in the wooded Clyde River Valley in the New Lanark World Heritage Village, this is an ideal place for exploring local history and nature.

    New Lanark Youth Hostel is set in the 200-year-old conservation village of New Lanark. Surrounded by woodland, this riverside village has been beautifully restored and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    The visitor centre offers a host of events throughout the summer months or you can visit the waterfall of Corra Linn, the Scottish Wildlife Visitor Centre or relive the past with the Annie McLeod experience. The hostel offers small rooms in a historic building. Ideal for families, school parties and groups visiting Glasgow and Edinburgh.

    Only an hour from Edinburgh and Glasgow, New Lanark Youth Hostel is based in an historic building and offers good budget accommodation for families, school parties and groups. All rooms are en-suite and there's a well-equipped self-catering kitchen, dining area and small lounge for guests to use.

    The Falls of Clyde walk is excellent for all ages and if you are ready for your first Munro the Tinto Hill is just 15 minutes drive south. Thanks to the biggest cairn in Scotland at the top, it is the highest peak in Southern Scotland - just don't forget to take a stone up with you to add to the cairn!

    From central Lanark follow signs for New Lanark and drive to the hostel in the village. Do not park at upper car park area - watch for the restricted access sign.

    Public Transport Directions

    Getting there by rail: Take Glasgow South train from Glasgow Central lower platform to Lanark. To New Lanark – minibus until 4.30pm.

    Getting there by bus: Take bus to Central Lanark terminus. Change to New Lanark - minibus until 5.30pm.
