Featured in the Good Hotel Guide 2014, No.45 is a personally run guest house nestling in the stunning surroundings of the Cairngorm National Park.
No 45 is a Victorian house which has been lovingly renovated to provide elegant and comfortable guest accommodation whilst maintaining the character of the original home. Penella and Gordon provide a warm welcome with delicious locally produced food. The individually decorated bedrooms have modern en-suite bathrooms, hairdryers, radio and television and hospitality trays. Most bedrooms overlook the attractive walled gardens or surrounding hills. One is on the ground floor.
The comfortable lounges with leather sofas and armchairs provide plenty of relaxation areas with an array of books and board games. Complementary fresh coffee, tea and biscuits are available in the afternoons.
Dining is based on the seasons, both in terms of ambience and menu. In the summer guests breakfast and dine in the light and airy conservatory, overlooking our lovely walled garden and enjoy fresh herbs and soft fruit from the garden. In the winter our candlelit restaurant is warmed by open log fires and the menu offers Scottish game, warming soups and puddings. Dinner is available 5 evenings a week (Wednesday to Sunday) and must be booked in advance.
The guest house is ideally placed for hill walking, fishing, riverside strolls or exploring the local castles, including Balmoral, and whisky distilleries.
