It is also suitable for use by disabled people with level access, wide internal door openings and disabled toilet facilities including level access shower.
The cottage is situated in the west mainland of Orkney in the parish of Birsay. The local village of Dounby is just 1 mile away with the main town of Kirkwall 15 miles away and only 9 miles from Stromness.
Nearby tourist attractions include The Brough of Birsay and Lord Kitchener's Memorial, Skara Brae, Skaill House and the Bay of Skaill, Standing Stones of Stenness, Maeshowe, Earls Palace and Click Mill to name but a few.
For trout fishing you are close to Harray, Boardhouse, Swanney and Clumbly Lochs. Please note that trout fishing is seasonal running from March through to September.
For Birdwatchers 'The Loons' & 'Marwick Head' RSPB Bird Reserves are within a short drive.
Public bus service passes by the cottage to both Kirkwall and Stromness on a regular basis.
