Overview

Oakbank will offer you all the comforts of home in the picturesque setting just a stone's throw from all the activities and beauty associated with the famous Glens. Whether it is fishing, shooting, golf, hiking, cycling, beach combing, sight seeing or simply enjoying the fabulous scenery you are looking for; Edzell is the perfect base for all these activities and more!
The spacious apartment is the on the first floor of a purpose built building established by a painter/decorator in 1899. It was completely renovated in 2007. The apartment now comprises a comfortable lounge, with sofa bed if required, a large family kitchen/ dining room and a luxury bathroom. There are three bedrooms; the master bedroom is a double with an en-suite bathroom at the front of the apartment and the two twin bedrooms are situated at the rear of the apartment with country views. The second of the twin bedrooms is accessed from the lounge.

The fully enclosed back garden has a large patio area with garden furniture, a barbeque and a small grassed area. A large shed is available for the storage of recreational equipment such as bicycles, golf clubs and fishing rods. Off-road parking at the back of the apartment is possible via a lane at the side of the building.

Our aim is to please to ensure our visitors are as comfortable at Oakbank as they would be at home, the apartment has been furnished with this aim in mind. From the basics such as gas central heating, double glazing, wooden floors, under floor heating in the bathrooms, dryer, washing machine, micro-wave, oven, fridge, freezer and coffee-maker. To the little extra's such as four televisions, hair-dryer, stereo, play-station with games, dvd's and a selection of books and board games.

Village of Edzell

Oakbank can be found in the High Street, the heart of the small village of Edzell. Edzell is a thriving community with approximately 700 inhabitants. Despite its size it has a wealth of amenities to offer both to its residents and welcome visitors. Within walking distance of Oakbank you can find for instance two hotels, two hairdressers, chemist, post office, baker, garage, butcher, newsagent, general store, health centre, church, coffee shop, restaurant, bowling club, health club and a golf club with 18-holes, 9-holes, pro-shop and a superb driving range.

The area is a magnet for sporting enthusiasts and with the glens, beaches, castles, distilleries and local sights abundant, the choice is yours.............
Golf - Apart from Edzell Golf Club, a host of other famous, challenging and/or beautiful courses are on your doorstep.

Fishing - The rivers North Esk and South Esk offer superb salmon fishing and the beaches at St. Cyrus are ideal for sea-fishing.

Walking - The Angus Glens and Grampian hills are ideal for all walking enthusiasts from a gentle family stroll along the river banks to a serious hike across the hills.

Sightseeing - Edzell Castle, Glamis Castle, Dunottar Castle, Fettercairn Distillery, Discovery Point Dundee, House of Dun and the Duthie Park winter gardens in Aberdeen are a few of the local attractions. Alternatively venture across the stunning Cairn O'Mount to Banchory and Royal Deeside in just half an hour.
