Oakwood Lodge (Colvend Coast)

Overview

Due to its fabulous location in the heart of the Galloway countryside, Oakwood Lodge enjoys stunning views across the Solway Firth to the Lake District beyond.

Offering an ideal stay for families or large groups, the interior of the lodge has been finished in natural pine and is beautifully furnished to the highest of standards. The veranda is the perfect place to enjoy a sunny breakfast and from the front room you can enjoy sweeping views as you relax on the comfortable sofas and make the most of the home entertainment system. There is also a modern open-plan kitchen, equipped with all the necessities you need, and a dining area seating six. Each of the three bedrooms, an en suite master bedroom with a king-size bed and two twin rooms, are beautifully appointed and full of character. During summer Oakwood's pretty private gardens are the perfect place to relax with a chilled glass of wine or a family barbeque.

Oakwood is perfect for birdwatchers: you can spot a variety of fascinating birds at Rockcliffe Marsh, a Site of Special Scientific Interest or head to the nearby reserves of Merse Head and Caerlaverlock and the Red Kite Feeding Station at Loch Ken. If you enjoy golf, Colvend Golf Course offers a stunning course and a challenging round.
