Overlooking the Atlantic coast of the Isle of Lewis, Ocean View is a traditional croft house that has been extensively renovated and improved to offer comfortable accommodation for up to four guests. The house features exposed stone walls and an open hearth (peat is provided), as well as central heating, two bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen with new appliances, washer, dryer, and payphone. Ocean View stands in its own grounds, overlooking both the Atlantic and Loch Mor Bharabhais, and in most weathers is within sound of the surf. The loch, with excellent salmon and trout fishing, is a short stroll from the house, and the Atlantic shore is an eight-minute walk down the road. A waymarked path extends along the coast offering scenery, beachcombing and birdwatching. A pair of otters live by a nearby burn, and seals and whales can often be seen from the coasts of Lewis. Inland lies one of the most extensive peatlands in Europe, offering unlimited opportunities for moor and hill walking, loch fishing and bird watching. This coast is a nesting area for many sea and shore birds, as well as a major migratory departure point for Iceland and the Arctic regions. Ocean View is within a few miles of the Calanais standing stones and many other archaeological monuments and sites of cultural interest, as well as of galleries and artists' studios.

Brue is only 14 miles by good road from the airport, ferry terminal, stores and facilities of Stornoway.The local region is noted for wonderful beaches, loch fishing, birdwatching on shore and moorland, archaeological monuments and historical attractions. Rates from £350 - £600 per week including linen, towels, peat for the hearth, and all other costs.
