    Olive Grove Cottage is a traditional 19th century cottage, located in the picturesque village of Alyth, near Blairgowrie, in the beautiful Perthshire countryside.

    Ideally located for all amenities in the heart of the village, the bakery, butcher, convenience store and local hotel serving excellent food, are all within 100yards from your front door.

    The cottage offers a luxurious base in a central location, from which to explore the delightful Perthshire countryside. Walk or cycle some stunningly beautiful trails, or take in a round of golf in one of the many golf courses in the area, or enjoy some fishing - the choice is yours. We have plenty of storage for your clubs or bicycles.

    The cottage has just been fully renovated to an extremely high standard, and has been designed to cater for your every whim to make your stay truly memorable.

    The cottage sleeps 4 people in two bedrooms - one double bedroom and one twin bedroom. There is off-road parking for one car, with a fully paved front garden and solid teak garden furniture with cushions and umbrella. A barbeque with tools are also provided, all you need to contribute is the coals and the food!

    There are two outbuildings which are large enough to store cycles, golf clubs, fishing rods, or skis and are fully lockable and secure. On the other side of the street, is a small park and a children's play area with swings, roundabout and climbing frames.

    Everything in the cottage is brand new. All kitchen appliances are fully integrated and A energy rated, with low voltage spotlights in every room and energy saving light bulbs in all lamps. All bed linen and towels are 100% cotton and pillows and duvets are hypo-allergenic. The cottage is centrally heated throughout, with radiators and thermostatic controls in each room. All flooring downstairs is oak, with solid oak ledge and brace doors and solid oak furniture throughout. Carpeting on the stairs and bedrooms are 100 % wool, and there is under floor heating in the hallway as well as the bathroom to keep your feet warm!

    Bedding and towels are included in the price. If your stay is for two weeks or longer, additional clean bed linen and towels will be provided. Gas, electric and wood for the stove, are also all included in the price.

    We regret, we do not accept any pets at Olive Grove Cottage, and there is a strict no smoking policy.

    Alyth is a small picturesque town situated in the east of Perthshire. To the south, Perth is but 25 minutes away, to the north, lies the Spittal of Glenshee where you will find Scotland's largest skiing area, to the west, lochs and glens await, including the highest peak in Perthshire, Ben Lawers at some 1214 metres.

    Alyth is served by a good range of shops all within a couple of hundred yards from your front door. You will find a excellent baker and butchers shop just round the corner, pubs and hotels serving quality food, fish and chip shop and Chinese takeaway, convenience and hardware stores, post office, hairdresser and coffee shop to name but a few. The town also has a Folk Museum which is open from May to September. At the Den of Alyth, which is an area of special scientific interest, you will find woodland walks and picnic areas.


    A welcome pack awaits with the essentials such as tea, coffee sugar, butter and milk, but also fresh bread and some delicious home baking.

    Road Directions

    From the A90 at Forfar, signposted to Kirriemuir (the A926).
    Stay on A926, then follow the signs to Alyth. At the roundabout, take the third exit onto Meigle Road signposted Alyth (B952). Right onto Airlie Street, then right onto Market Square, signposted to Glenisla. Drive over the bridge, turn to the right onto Mill Street, then first left onto Parkside Road. Cottage is on the left corner.
    From the South, depart from the M90 (Perth) after crossing the Friarton Bridge, signposted the A93 to Blairgowrie.
    Stay on the A93 from Perth to Blairgowrie, .From Blairgowrie follow signs for A926 to Alyth. Turn left past the Blackbird Inn, signposted to Alyth (B952).Turn right onto Market Square, and then left after crossing the bridge, first right onto Parkside Road and that's you.

    Public Transport Directions

    From the nearest information centre:- From Blairgowrie, take A926, signposted Kirriemuir (Alyth), approximately 4 miles. After passing The Blackbird Inn, turn left into Alyth. Turn right onto Market Square, then immediately right over the bridge onto Mill Street, then first left, the cottage is on the corner.

    Getting there by railway:- The closest stations are Dundee and Perth. Buses departing from Seagate Bus Station in Dundee, and Perth Bus Station, will take you to Market Square, Alyth, from which the cottage is just 150 yards walk.

    Getting there by aeroplane:- Aberdeen Airport - 1 ½ hrs by car - follow directions by car from the North
    Edinburgh Airport - 1 ½ hours by car - take the A8 west to join the M90, then follow directions by car, coming from the South
    Glasgow Airport - 2 ½ hrs by car - follow signs for M90 to Stirling, once of M90, follow direction by car from the South.
