With its own Lochan, river and waterfalls and abutting thousands of acres of forest, Ormidale is a magnificent, beautifully maintained historic country house - luxurious but liveable, with the accent on comfort not grandeur. With a billiard room, a separate playroom for children, a TV room and a formal drawing room with open fire, and equipped to the nines with all the entertainment facilities and home comforts, it works really well for any large party for a dozen or more people who want a luxurious break in grand-ish surroundings without the formal atmosphere of a hotel.
Ormidale House actually sleeps 30 (24 adults maximum) with three further letting properties available on the estate, giving a total of 33 bedrooms and accommodation for 77 in total. You can walk for an hour within the house's own gardens but immediate access into the forests and onto the mountains mean this is a fabulous base for walkers. Sailing, fishing, shooting and stalking of the highest quality are all available locally.
We have three separate hot tubs, a swimming pool, a sauna, and (under construction for 2012) a steam room.
The house is equipped with eight sets of golf clubs, fishing rods, etc. The garden features an outdoor children's play area, large trampoline, croquet lawn, separate football pitch, two barbecues, a tennis court and three midge machines! Dogs are always welcome.
We can arrange catering for you if that's the way you want to work you stay, and can organise shooting, fishing, stalking or more unusual things like paint-balling or off-road driving if that is your preference.
