A warm, friendly welcome awaits Ormsary, which is located in a pretty glen in Southend, near the Mull of Kintyre. The last section of the popular "Kintyre Way" walking trail runs past the farmhouse and walkers will be made very welcome.
Ormsary offers welcoming and comfortable accommodation in a secluded glen - "Glenbreckerie" - near the Mull of Kintyre. It is the perfect opportunity to get away from it all in a beautiful and undiscovered corner of the west coast of Scotland.
Whilst peaceful and relaxing, there is always plenty going on at Ormsary as it is a working farm with a herd of Ayrshire cows milked twice a day. If you are lucky you might see a calf born during your stay!
When not enjoying the comfortable surroundings at Ormsary or simply taking in the breathtaking scenery around the local area, there are many outdoor activities to enjoy such as hill-walking, golfing, surfing, pony-trekking or fishing. A trip to the Mull of Kintyre, made famous in Paul McCartney, is recommended. Take along your binoculars as the ornithological enthusiast will not want to miss an opportunity to spot some of the many wild birds - including birds of prey.
Kintyre is a golfer's paradise, with a wide range of courses on offer, including the local 18 hole links golf course at Dunaverty, the renowned Machrihanish Championship Course and the new Machrihanish Dunes Course. There are also numerous unspoilt sandy beaches scattered around the friendly parish of Southend.
In the village of Southend (approx 3 miles away) there is an excellent tearoom and shop at "the Muneroy" which serves hearty meals and fantastic cakes! There is a also a friendly local pub, the Argyll Arms.
In the town of Campbeltown (approx 10 miles away) there are further activities and amenties to enjoy such as the Springbank Distillery, the Aquilibrium leisure centre, Campbeltown heritage centre, the Picture House and scenic boat trips from the harbour (Mull of Kintyre Seatours).
