Osborne House Bed And Breakfast

Osborne House is the home of Heather and Neil Allan. It is a pretty Art Nouveau styled Victorian house with a pillared verandah set in a large garden on a quiet road but close to the shops and restaurants in Ballater.

It is in a secluded garden location but close to the centre of Ballater village.

There are two large guest bedrooms both on the first floor. Each is available as a double or a twin and are comfortably fitted out with pure cotton bedlinen. The bedrooms have stylish en-suite shower rooms. Tea and coffee making facilities and hairdryers provided.

There is a large single bedroom on the ground floor with its own private bathroom.

Wifi an all rooms, and use of elegant drawing room for television viewing or relaxing, and of beautiful garden. Heather and Neil look forward to welcoming you at their beautiful home set in an attractive secluded garden. Guests who arrive by teatime will be offered tea or real coffee with home baking in the drawing room.

The property is quiet and the garden hidden. There is offroad parking. Spectacular views of Craigendarroch Hill from the west bedroom.

Aga cooked breakfasts in the Victorian style diningroom, or on the sunny verandah if preferred in warm mornings.

Ballater offers an unparalleled variety of riverside and wood walks and hill walking to suit all tastes. This includes the well known Seven Bridges Walk which the house is at the start of. Rock climbing at Pass of Ballater or at the renowned corries of Lochnagar. As well as walkers and climbers for whom a drying room is available, hire of mountain bikes is available nearby. Flat cycle runs as well as steep ones available. Golf at a concessionary rate at a local course if wished, and we also have contacts to enable salmon fishing in the Dee or a day's stalking to be arranged. Tennis, and skiing in the winter are also on the doorstep.

Balmoral Castle and Balmoral Distillery are nearby. The village of Ballater is on the Victorian Heritage Trail. Queen Victoria's private railway carriage is on display at prettily restored Ballater station about six minutes walk away. As Neil Allan has a Society of Antiquaries connection, he is keen to suggest local sites of historic interest associated with the Romans, the Picts, the Second Scottish War of Independence in the 1330s, the clans and the 1715 Jacobite rebellion, and with Lord Byron.

Ballater is a preserved Victorian village with a wide range of privately owned shops and an unsurpassed choice of excellent restaurants.
