This beautiful self-catering cottage is ideal for experiencing a quiet life in a pretty fishing village or for relaxing in the magical garden, while admiring the 50-year-old palm tree.
Palm Tree Cottage is a beautifully furnished property located in the picturesque fishing village of Portpatrick. Formerly a toll house, the cottage has recently been renovated to the highest standard and offers home from home comforts. Aptly named, the house has a beautiful palm tree in its stunning garden alongside many other tropical plants, which benefit from the warm Gulf Stream.
Inside, an attractive living area offers plenty of space to relax on a comfortable leather sofa while you watch your favourite programmes on the plasma TV. With two airy double bedrooms and one twin, you are guaranteed a comfortable night’s sleep and the chance to rejuvenate for an active day ahead.
The area has many attractions which tell of the fascinating local history, together with botanical gardens, friendly restaurants and delightful tearooms. The village itself dates back over 500 years and also signals the start of the long-distance route, the Southern Upland Way, which runs for 212 miles to the east coast of Scotland. Head down to the shore and enjoy the delightful sandy beaches both in the village and just a short distance away at Sand Eel, Killantringan and Knockinaam. Charter a boat and head out to sea to explore, or play a round on the popular Dunskey golf course in Portpatrick, within easy walking distance of the cottage, while there are also other great value courses nearby, such as at Stranraer and Glenluce.
