Pier House

Overview

Welcome to Pier House - a traditional waterfront property nestling between the cobbled streets of Stromness and the sea. The house overlooks the picturesque harbour of Stromness and benefits from the use of a private pier and walled garden with seating area from where our residents can enjoy views down Scapa Flow and towards Hoy. Pierhouse is the perfect spot from which to explore Orkney's many delights and is conveniently located right in the middle of Stromness - you simply walk along the street to benefit from all this beautiful town has to offer - freshly baked bread, groceries, crafts, books, fish and chips as well as several great eateries and pubs - or walk in the opposite direction to view Orkney's spectacular west coast. Stromness is approximately 16 miles from Kirkwall and represents a good base from which to plan trips to the magnificent island of Hoy. Wherever you choose to go through the day, you can be assured of clean, warm, welcoming quarters on your return. We should mention that Pier House is non-smoking and we do not accept pets.

Pier House is spacious, sleeping six people comfortably. There are four ample bedrooms: two double, one twin, one single. You'll find a shower room on the middle floor and living room and dining kitchen on the ground floor. The atmosphere is airy with plenty of natural light and all rooms are cosy and comfortable. Bed linen and towels are provided free of charge and electricity is charged on a non-profit "pay for what you've used" basis.
Pier House is well equipped, with all mod cons. We endeavour to make your stay as pleasant as possible, by providing many extras. You'll arrive to locally made cakes and fresh coffee and we hope you'll feel relaxed from the moment you set foot in the house. We are child friendly and can supply a cot, bedding and other essentials such as a high chair. A variety of toys and games are provided for children. All this comes with extensive views over Stromness harbour, Hoy Sound and Scapa Flow.

Sample some of the delights of Pier House and Orkney by looking at the images provided and see also our own website for further details.
