    Port Charlotte Youth Hostel is a tastefully converted Whisky Bonded Warehouse and is an ideal base for visiting all of Islay's highlights.

    The hostel features a variety of room options to suit everyone’s preferences. Facilities include a spacious and well-equipped self-catering kitchen overlooking the bay and a common room with a TV and comfy furniture.

    This charming hostel is situated in the village of Port Charlotte with its white-washed cottages numerous restaurants, eateries and tea and coffee spots. Enjoy the endless beaches on Islay; visit Museum of Island Life, 7 world class whisky distilleries, ancient chapels or Loch Gruinart RSPB Nature Reserve. A dedicated Wildlife Centre is based on the premises and the hostel provides extensive local information for visitors.

    From the nearest information centre: From Bowmore follow the road signs to Bridgend. At Bridgend turn left and follow the signage to Port Charlotte. Youth hostel is on the shore side of the main road, just over the wee bridge, as you enter the village.

    Getting there by aeroplane: From Islay Airport take the bus to Bowmore and transfer there to the Port Nahaven. The bus will drop you off at the front entrance to the hostel, in Port Charlotte.

    Getting there by ferry: From Port Ellen take the waiting bus to Bowmore and transfer to the Portnahaven. The bus will drop you off at the front entrance to the hostel in Port Charlotte. From Port Askaig take the waiting bus to Bridgend and transfer to the Portnahaven bus. The bus will drop you at the front entrance to the hostel in Port Charlotte.
