Overview

It has recently been refurbished to ensure your stay in Edinburgh is just what you want! Located in a mews-like courtyard that opens on to the bustling Grassmarket Square, you will be in the best spot to explore the Old Town of Edinburgh but also the rest of the city. The Castle is a few minutes walk up the historic Royal Mile, the University buildings surround the area and bars and restaurants in abundance are on your doorstep. At the same time, you are tucked away so can enjoy peace and quiet too!

A romantic 1 bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor. The bedroom has a lovely King-sized cream wrought iron bed which is prepared for your arrival in crisp white sheets. The new bathroom is next door with an electric shower over bath and towels are provided. Hairdryer. The sitting room has a double sofa bed so 4 people can stay if required. Digital TV with DVD player. A dining table overlooks the courtyard and a new kitchen leads off with fridge, electric hob and oven and washing machine. Meter parking on the street, 24hr NCP parking 2 mins walk away. Sitting Room

The sitting room overlooks the Porteous Pend courtyard. It has a round dining table ideal for a relaxing dinner in the apartment. There is a large comfortable Futon Company double sofabed(sleeping a further 2 if required) and 2 loungers to sit back after a long day exploring the city. Flatscreen Digital TV and DVD player which can play CD's too.

Kitchen

A modern, fully-equipped kitchen leads off the sitting room. There is a washing machine, fridge with ice box, electric oven and hob with extractor hood.

Bedroom

A beautiful King-sized cream wrought iron bed made up in 500-thread crisp white linen. Soft towels provided. Hairdryer.

Bathroom

Beside the bedroom but not quite ensuite(accessible should there be more than 2 staying), the bathroom is modern and fresh. A powerful electric shower over bath, WC and wash hand basin. Hand towel and bath mat provided.

Location

The Grassmarket is full of great restaurants, offering pre-theatre deals and outdoor dining so you can sit and soak in the atmosphere. The University buildings are located around this area too. Edinburgh is a great city for exploring on foot- stroll up to Bruntsfield to the lovely unique shops, cafes and bars there, or sunbathe and picnic in the Meadows. Holyrood Palace is a 10 minute walk away, overlooked by Arthurs Seat- a hearty walk to the top will reward you with wonderful 360 degree views of the city rooftops and spires as well as the surrounding countryside.

General

Supermarket- a Sainsbury's Local is a minute's walk away, on West Port, just off The Grassmarket. There is also a Sainbury's at Quartermile, next to the meadows. There is a well-stocked newsagents at the entrance to Porteous Pend.

Free Wi-fi- The Dragonfly Bar offers this. Located on West Port, it's 30 seconds away.
Shopping- Boutiques in The Grassmarket, Bruntsfield, Morningside and Stockbridge. High Street shopping along Princes Street and George Street. The exclusive Multrees Walk and Harvey Nichols at St Andrew's Square.

Gardens- Princes Street Gardens and The Meadows are both nearby. The Botanical Gardens are well worth a visit and are about a 30 minute walk through Edinburgh's centre, through the Georgian New Town. These are free, with a charge for the Glass Houses. Enjoy a meal at the fabulous new Gateway Restaurant.
