Powgavie Farm Cottages

Overview

With superb views over the River Tay and a great location for exploring Perthshire, Angus and Fife it is a great base for your holiday. Eppie is a traditional farm cottage situated in a peaceful rural location close to the River Tay. It is well equipped and enjoys an enclosed garden with patio area, garden furniture, BBQ and private parking. Indoors, the accommodation is all on one level. The hallway leads through the property to an open plan kitchen and living area. There is a dining table and chairs, comfortable seating for six, large windows with doors leading to the patio. These areas provide a great setting for entertaining with families or friends. Alternatively you can relax on the sofas enjoying a DVD or music (MP3 docking station provided). Off the main hallway there are three bedrooms:
•Master bedroom with kingsize bed, ensuite bathroom (shower only) and doors leading to patio area
•Double bedroom
•Twin bedroom
There is also a bathroom (bath with shower over) and a utility room.
Linen and towels are provided. A travel cot and high chair are available on request. A garden shed provides bicycle storage. Well behaved pets are welcome by prior arrangement. Please note the cottage is non smoking.

The following are all within one hour or less by car from Eppie:
•Perth ('The Fair City'), St Andrews (the home of golf) and Dundee (the City of Discovery)
•The championship golf courses at St Andrews, Carnoustie and Gleneagles
•Tourist attractions such as Glamis Castle (birthplace of the Queen Mother), Scone Palace (home of the Stone of Destiny), Stirling Castle and Bannockburn
•For walkers, the Grampian Mountains, the Angus Glens, the Cateran Trail and the Fife Coastal Path.

Antiques - this area is well known for antique centres, the closest being the Scottish Antiques and Arts Centre at Abernyte.

Beaches - there are some beautiful beaches within easy reach - St Andrews, Tentsmuir, Broughty Ferry or Carnoustie.

Country Sports - Auchterhouse Country Sports offers clay pigeon shooting and quad biking.

Eating out - there are various options ranging from local pub food at Inchture Hotel to Dean's at Lets Eat (Perth) or Ballathie Country House Hotel (Kinclaven, Stanley) which both offer a fine dining experience.

Families - there are a range of activities including the Beatrix Potter Centre and Garden in Birnam, Active Kids in Stanley, the Scottish Deer Centre in Fife and swimming in both Perth and Dundee.

Gardens - there are several renowned gardens in the area including Branklyn Gardens, Glendoick and University of Dundee Botanic Gardens.

Golf - there are numerous quality courses nearby, for example Blairgowrie, Alyth, Strathmore, Downfield and Monifieth.

Historic interests - the Discovery, Glamis Castle, Scone Palace, St Andrews, the City of Perth and Loch Leven are all close.

Skiing - if the weather is right Glenshee is our favourite Scottish ski area.

Theatres and cinemas - Dundee Centre for Contemporary Arts, Perth Concert Hall and Theatre, Dundee Rep and the usual cinema houses all offer entertainment.

Walking - there are walks to suit all abilities ranging from coastal and attractive woodland walks to drovers paths and Munros.
The cottage is ideal for family holidays or groups of friends. Although weekly lets are the preference we maintain a flexible approach and short breaks are available. Please call for further details.
