Prestonfield

Built as the grand baroque home for Edinburgh's Lord Provost in 1687, Prestonfield is the city's most individual hotel, as you would expect from its owner - James Thomson the creator of the famed Witchery by the Castle.

Since its lavish restoration by renowned restaurateur/hotelier, James Thomson Prestonfield has been named as Hotel of the Year, Scotland's Most Romantic Hotel and as one of the top 101 Hotels in the World by Tatler/Abercrombie & Kent. Prestonfield is currently Scotland's highest-rated hotel with 5 red stars from the AA & 5 gold stars from VisitScotland. It is the only Scottish hotel to feature in the top 25 hotels in Europe in the 2012 TripAdvisor Traveller's Choice Awards

Totally sumptuous and indulgent in every way, Prestonfield has just 22 individually-decorated rooms and suites as well as romantic gardens, stunning public rooms, bars, salons, terraces, private diningrooms and Rhubarb, its destination restaurant.

Each of Prestonfield's rooms and suites is individually furnished with antiques and exceptional decor, all in Prestonfield's trademark opulent and indulgent style and every room features views over the landscaped gardens, parkland or the adjacent golf course.

"So extravagant its like walking onto the set of some flamboyant costume drama" Conde Nast Traveller

"....fabulous" ~ Joan Collins

Triple A-rated spoil me factor ~ Tatlor

Guests will find every modern facility incorporated into the sumptuously decorated rooms including air-conditioning, mood adjustable lighting, wi-fi, DVD & CD players, a safe for charging your laptop, Minibar and hospitality tray.

Rhubarb is the hotel's destination restaurant from Witchery by the Castle creator James Thomson. It is his most opulent restaurant to date and creates a magical dining experience that showcases the best of Scotland's produce in its pair of twin Regency rooms. Alongside Rhubarb there are a magical collection of historic private dining rooms including the historic panelled Italian Room and the tiny Salon Privee for just two!

Guest facilities include helipad, complimentary bike hire, running routes, furnished gardens packed full of topiary and old-fashioned roses and terraces

Prestonfield rates include the full breakfast menu served in our Rhubarb restaurant as well as complimentary newspaper, internet access, mineral water and a welcome bottle of Champagne served in dark chocolate pots in your room on check in.
