Welcome to Rannagulzion Self Catering Apartment, a much loved and comfortable, country escape on the Rannagulzion Estate. A great base for any type of holiday.
Set amidst beautiful surroundings this delightful first floor apartment ensures a peaceful and private get away, yet also close to the local village and town for road links and getting supplies. Bridge of Cally (2½mls) has a great village shop/post office and a popular hotel which serves food, coffees and drink all day.
This unique property offers its own private garden and parking within the grounds of Rannagulzion Country House. The gardens and policies surrounding are abundant with wildlife. Look out for our red squirrels feeding from the feeders and playing in the trees and the many birds which visit the bird table and feeders. These alone can keep you amused for hours!
Views from the beautifully kept main garden are not to be missed. On a good, clear day exceptional panoramas can be had over the Sidlaw Hills and stretching for 30 miles toward the Paps of Fife (otherwise known as the Lomond Hills).
The area is a paradise for walkers, country sports enthusiast and golf lovers. For walkers there are many, many walks available to suit all. From rambles on the estate, the Riverside at Blairgowrie, Alyth Den and The Hermitage at Dunkeld, to more challenging hill walking and climbing opportunities. The Cateran Trail runs through Rannagulzion Estate, either in the direction of Bridge of Cally or toward Alyth and Glen Isla, and is only a very short walk from the Apartment. On nice days many of our visitors just choose to stroll the few miles to Bridge of Cally where they can then relax with a pint of real ale, a tot of whisky or a coffee and reward themselves with a snack or meal.
Golfers are spoilt for choice, there are so many golf courses you could not play them all in a two week holiday! From friendly, local 9 hole courses to the more challenging Championship courses of Rosemount at Blairgowrie, St Andrews, Carnoustie, and Gleneagles. The notorious and eagerly awaited Trump Links at Menie, Aberdeen are within driving distance, as is the famous Loch Lomond Golf Club.
Fly fishing for Brown Trout and Salmon can be arranged locally on the Rivers Ericht, Isla, Esk and Tay, whilst loch fishing opportunities are plentiful on many small idyllic hill lochs or on the more well known Butterstone and Marlee Lochs. Lessons can be arranged with local, qualified coaches if you would like to learn how to fly fish.
Country sports (for suitably qualified and licenced persons) can be had locally. Please enquire direct with us for further information.
Many, many other activities are available and can be arranged on your behalf. These include, white water rafting, gorge jumping, kayaking, horse riding, abseiling, clay pigeon shooting, archery, quad biking, zorbing, ice skating, mountain biking, swimming . . . the list is endless!!
For the more sedate person why not sample the local markets in Perth, Dundee and sometimes Blairgowrie. Shopping malls are in Perth and Dundee, as well as at the House of Bruar often referred to as the Harrods of the North! St Andrews is also well worth a visit whether it be for the beach, the shops or the golf! There are always events going on locally, whether it be horse racing at Scone Palace or concerts and events at the Perth Concert Hall or Caird Hall, Dundee. Pitlochry is a must see and it’s theatre has a busy schedule of plays and events.
