Two cottages, sleeping four each, are set in a fabulous garden/woodland setting in the hamlet of Ravenstone, near Whithorn. Children will love our giant pirate ship complete with climbing wall, slide and an enclosed lower deck for little ones. Parents can enjoy the Yo Ho Hos from the peace of the large sandstone table in the shared garden.
Out and about we aren't far from beaches (7-10 mins by car) and quiet lanes to cycle through and enjoy the views to the Galloway Hills and coast. Or try mountain biking the 7 Stanes at nearby Kirroughtree Forest Park.
Relax in the cottages, which have been beautifully reburbished with your comfort in mind. The living rooms have cosy wood burning stoves and there are games and puzzles in case it rains. The modern kitchens have microwave, cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher (in Ravenstone Mains only), as well as many other necessities, will keep even the most discerning of cooks happy. Upstairs, the two bedrooms, one double and one twin, offer views onto the courtyard garden and private back garden. Bedding is provided. The bathroom includes a shower and bath, with towels. Cots and high chairs are available as well as an affordable babysitting service.
Ravenstone Mains Cottage is heated via a wood-burning stove in the kitchen, connected to a central heating system. Wood is available on site and can be paid for on departure. Ravenstone Stables has a combi-boiler which uses oil. There's a weekly fuel charge.
The two cottages share the large garden and guests at our third property, Keeper's cottage across the drive, have access to the pirate ship.
This a wonderfully undiscovered area of Scotland, so get away to Galloway and be an explorer.
