From the nearest information centre:- From the North travel south on A720 Edinburgh City Bypass to Old Craighall, join A1 signed to Berwick upon Tweed. After 9 miles take the second exit to Haddington. Go straight across traffic lights and continue out of Haddington on B6369 signposted Gifford. Continue of B6369 to Gifford, on entering the village turn right at T junction onto the main street (B6355 signposted Pencaitland). On leaving the village go straight across the staggered cross roads keeping the Golf Course on your right, for about ½ a mile. At the next cross roads, turn left signposted Redshill and Newtonhall.(no through road sign) Continue past 2 houses on either side of road, cottage is next on left.

Getting there by railway:- From Edinburgh's Waverley Station, leave Edinburgh to join the A1 signed to Berwick on Tweed. Follow the road and take second exit to Haddington.
