Inverness is the ‘Capital of the Highlands’ and is certainly the ideal base for you to explore the beauty, majesty and freedom of this land.
The Castles of Inverness, Cawdor, Stuart & Urquart are nearby – so too is Fort George – the home of the Cameron Highlanders. Other Historic sites include: Culloden Battlefield – the last battle on British soil, several Pictish sites and the remains of Bronze Age man’s dwellings at Clava Cairns. If you wish to just research your ancestors then the new Heraldry Centre is a must.
The Glens provide a wealth of outdoor pursuits and, for the serious walkers, the Great Glen Way passes in front of our door. The acclaimed Castle Stuart Golf Links is by the Firth - but there are many other courses to test your skills.
Visit the many Distilleries, local Breweries or the Highland Winery – or simply see the Highland water in it’s native state - the legendary Loch Ness!
That done then Inverness is the north’s centre for shopping and it boasts several specialist outlets too eg: the original Pringle Mill and Leakey’s second hand bookshop.
Then relax in the evening or enjoy a wee stroll along the Ness Islands or, by the river, into the City for Restaurants and Entertainment to your liking.
Riverview is maintained to high 4 star standards, we aim to provide a suitable resting place and a hearty breakfast to prepare you for your day.
Guests arrival - normally between 4pm & 7pm – but we recognise travel constraints and ask that you confirm your arrival time outside these hours.
Payment is preferred by Cash ( incl. dollar & euro), Cheques, Travellers Cheques and by Internet Banking.
