Rona And Raasay

Designated National Scenic Area, overlooking the sea, Skye, Harris and Lewis with private beach access.

These modern detached bungalows are situated in the quiet crofting community of Melvaig, near Gairloch.

The bungalows are approximately 80 yards from the seashore with private access to the beach. Melvaig has a cafe bar/restaurant and another tea room nearby.

The area's attractions include Inverewe Gardens,whale-watching trips,salmon,trout and sea fishing,golf course and pony trekking. The coastline around Melvaig and to the Rua Reidh Lighthouse (approx 4 miles) is rugged,a haven for nesting birds,seals,whales and otters. The house overlooks the sea and the Western Isles of Skye,Harris and Lewis. The Beinn Eighe Nature reserve and the Torridon mountains are just a short distance away.

All amenities including hotels, restaurants, shops, garage and a dental surgery can be found in Gairloch. Fishing trips,and guided walks and climbing available by prior arrangement.

The properties are used by the Whale and Dolphin Marine Conservation society while conducting land based surveys"...Rona & Raasay make for an excellent base in which to have the chance to spot whales & dolphins in their natural environment. Ground floor accommodation throughout in both bungalows. Ramp access and wide doorways for wheelchairs.

Double glazing throughout. Heating by oil fired central heating.

Comfortable and beautifully furnished L shaped lounge / dining room with picture windows giving magnificent views over the sea and Skye, Harris and Lewis. Electric fire, two large settees, Sky Freeview satellite colour TV, DVD, radio/cassette/CD player. Payphone in the lounge.

The fully fitted modern kitchen is well equipped with electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer, washer, tumble dryer, toaster, food mixer etc. plus a good range of cooking utensils. Rear porch with hanging space for outdoor clothes etc. Bathroom with bath, separate walk-in shower,
WC, heater and heated towel rail. Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes and stylish furnishings.

A deposit of £100 per week is requested in advance together with a retainer £60. The balance is payable 6 weeks prior to the commencement of your holiday.

Sheets, pillow cases, bath and hand towels, and tea towels, can be provided at an extra charge.

Electricity is metered and the amount will be deducted from your retainer. The meter will be read on arrival and departure.

Bookings are from Saturday 4pm to Saturday 9.30am Parking space for 2 cars by the house. Well behaved pets by arrangement.
