We are the only 4 star GOLD award guest house on Skye whose roomes are bookable on-line at www.roskhillhouse.co.uk. This unique old croft house is in an ideal position for exploring the sights, culture and wildlife in the North of the island. Dunvegan Castle, with it's attractive gardens and optional boat trips out to the seal colony, is approximately 5 minutes drive away. Neist Point lighthouse is the most Westerly point on Skye and on a clear day affords stunning views to the Outer Isles, as well as the chance to see dolphins and Minke whale. The Waternish peninsula boasts the oldest pub on Skye in the village of Stein, from where occasional spectacular sunsets may be observed. This area also has many galleries and local craft shops. Both Neist Point and the Waternish peninsula are 20 minutes drive away. There are both long and short walks to suit all abilities within easy reach. The world famous Three Chimneys Restaurant is close by for the discerning connoisseur as well as a number of other well reviewed restaurants.
Roskhill House, is a rare very early example of a large stone built croft house which was built around 1890 in the traditional island style. It enjoys a peaceful country setting 100 metres away from the main road and has ample off street parking. The front garden affords views of Loch Bracadale and Idrigill Point. All bedrooms have king sized beds and have been renovated to a high standard with bespoke furniture, a fridge and an iPod dock to provide very comfortable accommodation whilst keeping the traditional building design and features. The guest lounge, which was originally the village post office, has been refurbished and re-carpeted to provide a more contemporary feel, whilst still retaining the feature exposed stone walls.
