Rowardennan Hotel

The family run, Rowardennan Hotel nestles beneath Ben Lomond on the rugged eastern banks of Loch Lomond in the magnificent Queen Elizabeth Forest. The hotel has breathtaking views of Ben Lomond, Loch Lomond and the mountains to the North.

Located on the famous West Highland Way, the Hotel is a notable milestone on the long route. Sitting in the shadows of Ben Lomond the Rowardennan Hotel dates back to 1696 but has been recently refurbished in a contemporary Scottish style. The timeless beauty of the forest, peaks and Loch Lomond seem like another world, yet the Hotel is just an hour from Glasgow. Accessible, yet remote, the hotel is ideal for a weekend or mid-week break any time of the year. A longer stay will enable you to explore the area more thoroughly and discover the many treasures of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. Located virtually at the base of Ben Lomond the Rowardennan is the ideal place to meet fellow travellers and share tales of adventures over a malt whisky. The hotel is open all year round and is popular in the winter as the Loch and surrounding hills take on an Alpine feel. Whatever the time of year a warm welcome awaits walkers, tourists, climbers and business guests alike. The Rowardennan Hotel on Loch Lomond - wake up to the real Scotland. The Rowardennan Hotel lies in the shadows of Ben Lomond, Scotland's most southerly Munro and is a welcomed stopping point for those walking on the popular West Highland Way route from Milngavie near Glasgow, to Fort William in the north.

Set amidst idyllic scenery with outstanding views of the loch, Ben Lomond and the mountains to the north, the Rowardennan Hotel is the perfect place for a "get away from it all" break. The area is ideal for those who enjoy the peace, tranquillity and the outdoor life.

Set in the heart of the Loch Lomond and Trossach's National Park in Scotland this is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Within only an hour of Glasgow city centre you would think that you were in another world. The rural setting of Rowardennan is approximately 15 minutes drive from Balmaha and 25 minutes from Drymen.

Under new family ownership, the Rowardennan Hotel which dates back to 1696 has been tastefully refurbished, retaining the feeling of a bygone era with a contemporary twist. The facilities at the hotel include 14 Bedrooms En-Suite, 2 Bedrooms with Private facilities and the Ben Lomond Suite which is ideal for a honeymoon or romantic break.

The Clansman Bar has a real Scottish feel with a large roaring fire and Beer Garden with astounding views to the Loch and beyond. Live musical entertainment is often on at the weekend and good wholesome food is served in the Clansman Bar from 11am until 9.00pm (8pm in winter months) For those who prefer to enjoy a drink or dine "al fresco", enjoy the views from our Beer Garden where food is served in the summer months. The Beer Garden also has the benefit of a children's play area.

The Rob Roy Bar with open fire is a smaller intimate area and new for 2010 is the "Bothy" with it's log burning stove and lovely garden outlook. Food is also served in the Bothy. Plans for later in the year include a fine dining "Restaurant beneath the Ben".

The hotel is situated by the banks of the loch and has the facility for slipping water craft and boat moorings. The hotel also has the advantage of a beach area which is ideal for children.

Whatever the time of year a warm welcome awaits walkers, tourists, climbers and business guests alike. Escape with us at The Rowardennan Hotel on Loch Lomond and wake up to the real Scotland.
