Rowlands Aviemore

Rowlands is situated in a tranquil location for you to explore the great outdoors or just to admire the magnificent surroundings which the cottage has to offer for you & your pet.

The picturesque River Spey and Spey Valley Championship Golf Course with stunning views of the Cairngorm Mountains & surrounding hills are just a 3 minute walk from the cottage.

Aviemore is in the heart of Scotland’s great outdoors - dominated by the wild Cairngorm mountains and surrounded by rivers, lochs and Caledonian forest, Aviemore is the ideal base for year round activities and offers walking, mountain biking, bird watching, winter sports, golf, fishing, horse riding and climbing. Aviemore offers some great venues for eating and drinking and has excellent road, rail and air links from just about anywhere in the UK. So, Rowlands offers an excellent base for touring the spectacular scenery of the Highlands by car, motorbike, bicycle or walking.   To explore the local area, there are many walking/mountain biking trails which start from your front door and is only a short drive to the Cairngorm Ski Area.

We are very happy to give discounts to guests that have either stayed with us before or have friends/family that would like to stay at Rowlands.

Rowlands self catering cottage is a 4 bedroom/2 bathroom converted and modernised (in 2012) cottage, located close to shops and other facilities ie mountain bike hire at Bothy Bikes, food takeaways/salon/Cost Cutter mini supermarket all within a 10 minute walk or  Aviemore town centre is a gentle 20 minute walk, where you can find all the amenities available.

We are also pleased to accept dogs (pet friendly), the surrounding countryside has plenty to offer for dogwalking too!  Rowlands has a large garden and off road parking for 3 cars.

The cottage sleeps 8 plus 1 infant, has free wireless broadband and incoming calls to guests, and we have Freesat LED and LCD TV and DVD players in the living room and all bedrooms to keep all our guests entertained on rainy days.

Rowlands offers contemporary open plan living to maximise space and light and we have furnished the cottage to a high standard with new furniture and electrical equipment.

The living room contains 2 large brown leather sofas and a comfy beanbag. There is a feature electric wall heater, a 32" HD LCD TV with Freesat HD and a DVD player. In the kitchen, the units are modern white with black worktops; we provide all the usual appliances such as dishwasher, ceramic hob cooker, washing machine, condenser dryer and fridge freezer. There is also a radio/CD/ipod dock. There is a large extendable oak dining table and seats which accommodates 8 people

Leading up from the oak staircase, the converted loft space provides 2 bedrooms (both with dormer windows) and 1 bathroom (with a velux window). The views from upstairs are across to the Craigellachie hills and you can also see what the conditions are like on the Cairngorms. We have 2 double bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs too. Of the 2 bathrooms, upstairs has a walk in cubicle with electric shower, countertop sink and a large mirror; downstairs is a shower bath with a drench shower and countertop sink. Both bathrooms have toilets.

The sleeping accommodation can be flexible as one of the bedrooms can be either a kingsize or twin bed room, in addition to the master king size room, twin room, and full size bunk room. Heating is provided by electric storage and panel heaters throughout the house. The entrance porch keeps the cold highland air out of the living room and has hanging space for jackets and there is a shoe rack

Outdoor furniture is provided for dining or sitting outside and we have a paved patio area with a picnic table that seats 8 people. There is also a barbeque available for guests to use. We provide a small shed for storage of your outdoor equipment such as mountain bikes and golf clubs.

Rowlands is located on the national cycle network and is close to the main Aviemore to Boat of Garten off road path, this path is suitable for both walkers and cyclists for a family day out. From our front windows, you can watch the Strathspey Steam Railway pass by. The river Spey is a less than a 5 minute walk away from where you can maybe catch a glimpse of a fish jumping or an osprey pursuing its pray as you walk along the riverside path by the Spey Valley Championship Golf Course.

The nearest leisure facilities, bar and restaurant are at the Dalfaber Country Club, located on Dalfaber Drive and can be reached on foot in around 5 minutes and has many facilities ie excellent swimming pool, Jacuzzi, saunas, steam rooms, gym, squash, tennis, table tennis, badminton & children’s play areas, both inside and out.
