Sealladh Mara is situated in the quiet Ross-shire village of Ardelve, overlooking the beautiful and historic Eilean Donan Castle, and within walking distance of the picturesque village of Dornie. The proprietor, Mrs.
Phyllis Peterkin, is friendly and helpful to her guests, and accordingly, Sealladh Mara carries a 3-Star Visit Scotland Recommendation. The accommodation consists of one double en-suite, one twin en-suite and a standard double.
There is plenty to do and see in the area, and Sealladh Mara is an excellent starting point. Nearby, for the keen walker and climber, the pure natural beauty of the Falls of Glomach and the breathtaking majesty of the Five Sisters of Kintail are unparalleled. Sealladh Mara looks directly across Loch Duich to beautiful Eilean Donan Castle - a fascinating visit for both children and adults alike. The nearby village of Dornie boasts two hotels, a pub, small grocery store and a Post Office. Kyle of Lochalsh, where there are various shops, banks, a Post Office, swimming pool and a Nine-Hole golf course, lies only 9 miles west of Ardelve. The Isle of Skye and the majestic Cuillin mountains is only 10 miles away, and can be reached via the Skye Bridge - now toll-free. A pleasant walk to the highest part of the Skye Bridge affords beautiful views of the villages of Kyle and Kyleakin and the Isle of Raasay. Nearby Plockton was the filming location for the 'Hamish Macbeth' TV series. The entire area is unsurpassed for scenic beauty, so if your holiday is an energetic or peaceful one, you are certain to find it here!
To reach Ardelve, cross the Dornie Bridge and then take the first turning left at the signpost for Ardelve. Carry on until you see the B&B sign for Sealladh Mara. Turn down the little road on the right and the house is second on the right.
