Seilie Cottage - Self Catering Fishermans Cottage

Gardenstown nestles amongst the red sandstone cliffs of Gamrie Bay. The village is an unspoilt haven - just imagine stepping back in time - to the era of no mobile phones, where children could play outside in safety and a pub was a pub.

It still has a traditional butchers, a bakehouse and bakers shop. It's the village that Morrisons used for their TV advert - the one with the harbour. A short walk away is the historic village of Crovie. A short drive away is Pennan - famous for the film Local Hero.

Seilie Cottage is a traditional fisherman's cottage, dating back to the mid 1800s located amongst the quaint terraces beneath the red sandstone cliffs of Gamrie Bay. The cottage is located in the heart of the village just a stones throw from the pub, butchers, bakers, beach and harbour.
The location ensures our guests a peaceful and tranquil break.

Our theme is luxury and comfort - our love is food! The cottage is designed to ensure you have a comfortable stay with all the luxuries of home at your disposal!
The accommodation in the cottage is on three floors - a comfortable lounge on the ground floor. An eating kitchen and separate dining/sitting room are on the first floor. The third floor has 2 charming bedrooms - one king size and one double -as well as a recently refurbished bathroom. The terraced garden is accessed from the first floor - with great sea views from the terrace at the top. A great place to watch the sunset with a glass of wine!

The cottage accommodates four people comfortably in the two bedrooms, but there is a sofabed in the lounge if it is needed.

The lounge has been redecorated and refurnished for 2010 - while still retaining the traditional open fireplace. It is a cosy and comfortable room presented in a traditional Scottish style. A colour TV with integral freeview & DVD player is provided for the use of guests. There is a wide range of DVD's (including Local Hero), books, magazines, games, a CD player, an ipod dock and radio.

Off the lounge is a cloakroom with WC and wash- hand basin.

The first floor has an eating kitchen equipped with everything a self catering foodie would need. The dining room would comfortably seat up to six round the dining table. Or why not sit in one of the comfortable antique chairs to plan your day-out, read, daydream or play the guitar which is there for your use.

The top floor has two bedrooms. One looks out the front of the property with great sea views. It has been refurnished for 2010 with a traditional brass bed (King size). The second bedroom is a cosy double room which looks out over the garden. Bathrobes and a hairdryer are provided.

The bathroom has recently been refurbished and has an electric shower over the bath.

The garden is very sheltered and on three levels - with great views at the top level. There is a double seat for that early evening drink or for just watching the sun go down over the cliffs. The second level is perfect for outside dining and BBQs or why not have a siesta on a lounger after a good meal under the apple trees. The first level has a small table and chairs for that morning cuppa in the sun. There is also an outbuilding which houses the washing machine, tumble drier, BBQ, fishing rods, bins etc.

We welcome well behaved dogs - by arrangement at no extra charge.

Please go to the cottage website or phone me for any further information you need - a warm welcome awaits you in Gamrie!
