Located in beautiful Glen Feochan, just 5 miles south of Oban, Sheep Fank Cottage is the perfect base for touring the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.
The accommodation offers peaceful surroundings and a private garden for the use of guests where you can relax and enjoy the views whilst listening to birdsong and the running water of the stream which is the boundary of the property.
We only let 2 rooms but the accommodation choice can either be large ensuite bedrooms with king size beds, one of which can accommodate a family of 4 or a twin bedded room with a private bathroom. All rooms have facilities to make your stay enjoyable including comfortable seats to relax in whilst watching the flatscreen TV/DVD, listen to your own music from the Ipod docking station and an area where your choice of a hot drink can be made from the hospitality tray provided.
All bedrooms are centrally heated having uninterrupted views and the amenities that you would expect to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. Should you be travelling as a family, bedroom Mull has a full sized single bed permanently in the room and can accommodate another single bed and bedroom Iona can accommodate a single bed as well as the king size bed.
Delicious breakfasts are chosen from a menu and cooked to order using local produce wherever possible. You may choose from a range of foods including the traditional and generous Scottish breakfast or muffins topped with moist scrambled eggs and laced with Scottish smoked salmon. Perhaps you would prefer mouth watering mushrooms topped with Stornoway black pudding and a golden poached egg - the choice is yours! Though if you have a particular dietary need please contact us and discuss how we can plan for your visit.
Set in a secluded glen, it is hard to believe that Sheep Fank Cottage is just 5 miles from the centre of Oban, just 1 mile down a single track road, well marked from the main A816 to Lochgilphead.
You don't have to lose touch with the world - we offer free WiFi access to our guests.
The cottage has expansive views over the glen to the front and also up to the hillside behind where buzzards can often be seen. There is easy access to the hillside for walking or you may stroll along the single track road to Glen Feochan waterfall. The cottage is sited beside the old drovers' road that leads from the sea, up Glen Feochan towards Kilchrenan where it leads eventually to Loch Awe and beyond. Jane and Jeff would like to welcome you to Sheep Fank Cottage. We have 30 years experience of exploring the west of Scotland and look forward to sharing our love of this area with you.
There is off road parking and facilities for guests who are travelling by bike, car, or motorbike - please visit our web page for details.
The garden has seating for you to enjoy the atmosphere perhaps after a chosen activity or simply to unwind during your stay.
We are a non smoking establishment and unfortunately do not accept pets. We have a cat and a dog for the information of asthma sufferers.
Jane and Jeff look forward to welcoming you to Sheep Fank Cottage. Please contact us if you have any particular needs or interests and we will endeavour to help you wherever possible.
