Shepherd's Cottage is an 18th century stone building with traditional charm but cosy and warm with modern convenience.
It sits in its own fenced garden overlooking Glen Nevis. Plenty of walking right from the front door.
Shepherd's Cottage, Achintee Farm is situated in Glen Nevis, at the very foot of Ben Nevis yet only 2km. from Fort William. There is plenty of walking right from your front door, either on the surrounding hills or along the riverbanks of the Nevis.
Hiding in the trees within its own fenced garden, the 18th century traditional stone self catering cottage has a particularly traditional atmosphere about it including a real open fire.
In the cottage there is one double bedroom, a lounge/kitchen with open fire and a bathroom including a shower over the bath. Oil filled radiators are in each room keeping the cottage warm and cosy. We do not take pets.
Electricity, linen and towels, and a starter pack for the fire are included in the price.
There is free wifi access at the main farm house as well as good drying rooms.
As the cottage has no washing machine we do any laundry you may have free of charge at the farm house.
Across the drive from the cottage the old stone barn has been converted into a licensed restaurant and climbers' bar.
Achintee is also centrally located for days trips to for example: Loch Ness, the Isle of Skye, and the white sandy beaches at Morar. Take the steam train to Mallaig, a boat trip to Seal island or a cable car ride at Aonach Mor.
We have lived in Glen Nevis for many years and are glad to share our local knowledge if you need any advice or guidance.
We also have a Bed and Breakfast and a Hostel at Achintee Farm.
Almost 400 years old, the Cottage, hiding in the trees within its own grounds, is ideal for that 'special holiday for two'. A superb base for walking, climbing, cycling, touring or just relaxing. The old stone barn situated across the drive from the cottage has been converted into a licensed restaurant.
