Slipperfield self catering cottages are located within a private country estate, amongst trees and lakes, 19 miles from Princes Street, Edinburgh, and 15 miles from Peebles.
The countryside is on your doorstep:, walking in the Pentland Hills, (West Linton is home to two past Walking Festivals), mountain biking in Glentress Forest, Peebles, or play golf on West Linton's championship golf course, Pony trekking and horse riding are available locally, and of course Edinburgh with its Castle, the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe Festival, the Military Tattoo, and the Royal Yacht Britannia, are just half an hour's drive away. Dogs are welcome (max. two per cottage) and there is space to enjoy the many walks around our woods and sample some excellent food in the pubs, tearoom and restaurant in West Linton, just over a mile away. There are plenty of activities for children in the area, and cots and high chairs can be provided free of charge.
Loch Cottage has olde worlde charm being formerly a game keeper's cottage, it adjoins Slipperfield House, but is separate and self contained, and services include washing machine, microwave, satellite TV, barbeque, and sleeps 4 in one double and one twin bedroom. Enjoy the magnificent views down Slipperfield Loch. America Cottage is 400 yards away with three bedrooms, one double and two twins, and services here also include dishwasher and shower and is more secluded. Both cottages have free wi-fi.
Everything has been thought of to make this a wonderful holiday for you, our visitors' books are testament to this and many people return year after year. There is birdwatching, (spot the osprey), buzzards, and woodpeckers, and roe deer can be spotted in the gardens.
Leave your cares behind and come to romantic Slipperfield, where there is a warm welcome, home made cake, open fire and a wealth of information to make your visit a truly memorable one.
