    For a relaxing, comfortable holiday, Smiddy Cottage provides spacious accommodation for two people. It is a convenient central base from which to explore the glorious countryside and attractions of Perthshire.

    Originally Smiddy Cottage was a working Smiddy, and is now a spacious self catering accommodation for two people.

    There is a delightful very spacious living room/kitchen/dining room. The living room area has comfortable seating to sit and relax in, with a flat screen television and Freesat TV. There is a fully equipped kitchen with everything you would require for your stay with us, hob/oven, fridge and dishwasher...all the mod cons to help make your time in the cottage as hassle free as possible. From this area you can enjoy the tranquil views of the countryside through the patio doors. The utility room has a freezer, washing machine and space to dry your clothes. There is also ample space to store walking boots, bicycles and golf clubs. Smiddy Cottages shower room and bedroom is accessed from the main living area by three steps. The bedroom has zip linked beds which give it real flexibility enabling it to be set up with a large kingsize bed or two singles. There is good quality bedding and fluffy towels provided in the price.

    The outside area for Smiddy Cottage has a patio area in which to enjoy a relaxing glass of wine and dining al fresco. At the side of the property there is a private parking area.

    Around the area there is lots to see and do whether it's the walks, fishing, history, heritage or culture. There's also a good selection of golf courses, and fishing in the area. For shopping the small country town of Pitlochry is approx. 7 miles North and has a good selection of individual shops, pubs and restaurants. Dunkeld is approx. 7 miles South where you will also find individual shops, pubs and restaurants. Perth is approx. 30 minutes drive away where a larger selection of shops, restaurants, bars, can be found. Smiddy Cottage is ideal for couples - providing space, comfort and above all a relaxing retreat. Sleeps up to 2 people.

    Road Directions

    From South (Perth, Glasgow, Edinburgh) travel Northbound on the A9 after approx.21 miles take the left slip road signposted Aberfeldy, Kenmore etc., at mini roundabout take 2nd junction signposted Ballinluig and Perth follow for approx. 0.25 miles taking first turning on right leading to Ballinluig, Tulliemet and Dalcapon. Follow for approx, 200 yards passed BP garage turning immediately right at the junction after the school. Follow the road for approx.2 miles after the small humped back bridge it is located on the left hand side.

    Public Transport Directions

    From the nearest information centre:- The Tourist Information Centre is located in Pitlochry approx. 7 miles to the North. From the car park turn left onto the main road all the way through Pitlochry and rejoin the main A9 dual carriageway heading South. After approx. 5 miles take the slip road to the left marked Aberfeldy and Kenmore. Immediately on leaving A9 turn left at the next junction into Ballinluig follow road for approx. 200 yards passing BP garage turning immediately right at the junction after the school. Follow road for approx. 2 miles after the small humped back bridge it is located on the left hand side.

    Getting there by railway:- The local station is in Pitlochry approximately 7 miles to the North. From the station turn right onto Atholl Road. Follow the main road through Pitlochry passing BP garage on the right and joining the main A9 dual carriageway heading South. After approx. 5 miles take the slip road to the left marked Aberfeldy and Kenmore. Immediately on leaving the A9 turn left at the next junction into Ballinluig following the road approx. 200 yards passing the Bp garage, turning immediately right at the junction after the school. Follow the road for approx.2 miles after the small humped back bridge it is located on the left hand side.

    Getting there by aeroplane:- Edinburgh International Airport is 70 miles away approximately 1.5 hours travel by road. Glasgow International Airport is 80 miles away, also approximately 1.5 hours travel by road. From the airports travel North to Perth and follow the signs or Inverness on the A9. Then follow the directions as above 'By Car' from Perth.
