Comfortable well equipped house on a working farm situated in quiet location midway between Stromness and Kirkwall.
The area surrounding South Heddle is a mixture of farmland and natural marshes that offer a safe haven for various birds and mammals.
Within a 10 minute drive you will find yourself in the heart of Neolithic Orkney where you can visit Maeshowe, Standing Stones of Stenness and the Ring of Brodgar. These are all situated between the beautiful Stenness and Harray Lochs, ideal for fishing.
Travel ten miles to the west and you will find the town of Stromness; home to a network of narrow streets with shops, cafes, a museum, the acclaimed Pier Arts Centre and the recently refurbished Ness Battery.
Travel the same distance to the east and you will find yourself in Orkney's principle town of Kirkwall. Here you will find a further selection of shops and museums as well as the Earl's and Bishop's Palaces and of course the stunning St. Magnus Cathedral.
Both towns offer visitors the chance to play 18 holes on welcoming and picturesque golf courses.
Other attractions on the mainland include the ancient Tomb of the Eagles, the Italian Chapel and the Churchill Barriers in the east and further to the west of the island the Brough and Earl's Palace in Birsay.
